Govannen is one of the best Celtic music bands in the UK, blending jigs & reels with traditional & contemporary Irish, and original songs. Popular for high-energy ceilidhs, they are equally at home playing “sit down” concerts and, largely due to the shortage of space in our intimate venue, that is what they will be performing on their first visit to Plungar.
The Govannen band members have a huge pedigree of work between them, playing with the likes of Martin Carthy, Peter Tork, members of Jethro Tull & Fairport Convention and many more. Founders Dan Britton and Chris Conway will be joined by Adele McMahon and Roger Wilson together playing a massive variety of instruments. It promises to be lively!
