Apart from spells away studying and working, Vicky has lived in Plungar for 64 years and has watched the village transform over that time - from cows being driven through the streets for milking and churns put out for collection, to the thriving community it is today. She feels fortunate to be part of a village with such a strong sense of identity, a lovely church, a good pub and a wonderful village hall. It is a privilege to serve as Chair. vicky.kemp@outlook.com

Julie has lived in the village for over 25 years and has enjoyed using the Village Hall throughout that time. She fondly remembers the days of horticultural and baking competitions, and even wellie throwing, and now feels it’s time to give something back to the community by putting her many years of finance experience to good use. treasury@plungar.org

Julie has lived in Plungar for quite a long time now and loves the village and the special space of the village hall. Julie teaches Yoga among other things and can often be found out walking in the woods, along the canal and occasionally in The Anchor. julietheather2020@gmail.com

The Bookings Secretary is the first point of contact for people wishing to hire the Village Hall. The role includes responding to booking enquiries, sending out hire information and booking details, showing prospective hirers around the hall, and helping to arrange access and keys for bookings on the day.

The Events Secretary helps to organise and support events at the Village Hall. This includes helping to plan the events programme, liaising with performers, speakers and activity providers, sourcing new ideas, and supporting the practical arrangements needed to make events enjoyable and successful for the local community.

The Building Secretary helps to look after the general maintenance and upkeep of the Village Hall. This includes keeping an eye on health and safety matters, carrying out small DIY tasks where appropriate, and helping to organise tradespeople for repairs, servicing and larger maintenance jobs. The role is important in helping to keep the hall safe, welcoming and well maintained for everyone who uses it.
